CASE STUDIES

Great Places Housing Group
The challenge Great Places Housing Group (GPHG) faced was a poorly performing supply chain that impacted their ability to service their 18,000 homes effectively. To address this challenge, GPHG approached us to assist in setting up their own Distribution Centre in Greater Manchester.

Our solution involved implementing the Stock Right Now software to manage the flow of work. Our system collects intelligent data that enables GPHG to learn about their supply chain and improve it. Tradespeople at GPHG use our mobile app to record what they use and order the parts they need, providing flexibility to order from a network of carefully chosen suppliers, with their quality measured at the touch of a button.

By focusing on what matters to customers and making our systems easy and intuitive for users, Great Places has gained greater control over their supply chain. The result has been a reduction in annual materials spend by 25%, an increase in the number of repairs completed per day by 25%, and an improvement in the average end-to-end time from customer call to completed repair by 58%. Overall, the mileage of the repairs fleet has reduced by 160,000 miles per year.

With our system in place, GPHG has been able to provide better service to their customers while reducing costs and improving their supply chain efficiency.

The problem we helped to solve

No visibility of what was on their vans or where it was being used and poor auditability
for end of year account of van stock values.

The solution we provided

In the early days we developed a van stock take solution to help evaluate the stock
values on the vans. We did this both with our software and by physically helping with
van stock audits. We have also helped them with acquisitions by conducting company
stock audits for valuation purposes. Ever since then we have provided our unique van
stock app that reports what materials have been used where, and orders stock that was
not on the van when it was needed, giving them visibility, control, and a method for
improving first time first visit fix rates.

The problem we helped to solve

No visibility of what was actually on their vans or where it was being used.

The solution we provided

We provided consultancy with Vanguard to establish what was on the vans, and input usage
data to Stock Right Now to demonstrate that van stock values could be reduced by between
50% - 75% whilst simultaneously improving genuine first time first visit fix rates to 89%.

Visibility – Help you know exactly what is on the vans

Control – Help you monitor exactly where materials are being used

Improvement – Help you understand exactly what ‘should’ be on your vans and in what
quantities to guarantee a first time first visit fix
