Carbon Reduction Policy
Carbon Reduction Plan: Stock Right Now
Last updated: 23 December 2025
Our commitment Stock Right Now is committed to operating a low-carbon, responsible business and supporting the UK’s transition to Net Zero by 2050.
As a small, fully remote software company, our operational carbon footprint is inherently low.
Our approach focuses on maintaining minimal emissions, making responsible technology and operational choices, and reviewing our impact annually as the business grows.
Baseline emissions footprint:
Stock Right Now is a digital software provider with:
• No physical office premises
• A fully remote workforce
• A digital-only service delivery model
This operating model significantly reduces emissions compared to traditional office-based organisations.
Scope 1, direct emissions
Company vehicles:
- 1 fully electric company cars
- Zero tailpipe emissions
Scope 1 total: 0 tCO₂e (tailpipe emissions)
Scope 2, purchased energy
• No company-owned or leased office buildings
• No centralised electricity or gas usage
Electricity consumption occurs within employee home working environments and is not directly controlled by the organisation.
Scope 2 total: Minimal and indirect
Scope 3, indirect emissions (selected relevant sources)
Scope 3 emissions for Stock Right Now primarily relate to:
• Employee home working (electricity and heating)
• Minimal business travel
• Cloud-based software infrastructure
Stock Right Now’s software platform is hosted using Microsoft Azure, part of Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure. While Stock Right Now does not directly control third-party data centre operations, we consider supplier sustainability credentials when selecting and maintaining technology partners.
Microsoft has publicly committed to:
• Becoming carbon negative by 2030
• Operating on 100 percent renewable energy by 2025
• Removing historical carbon emissions by 2050
Scope 3 emissions associated with cloud infrastructure are considered low and proportionate to a remote-first digital business.
Current carbon reduction measures:
Stock Right Now has embedded low-carbon practices into its core operating model, including:
• Fully remote workforce, removing commuting emissions
• No office premises or associated energy usage
• Electric company vehicles
• Digital service delivery with no physical products or logistics
• Remote meetings as standard, minimising business travel
• Use of Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure rather than on-premise servers
• Preference for established suppliers with published sustainability commitments
These measures significantly reduce our overall carbon footprint. Future carbon reduction commitments
Given our already low baseline emissions, Stock Right Now’s focus is on maintaining low impact rather than large-scale reductions.
We commit to:
• Remaining a remote-first organisation
• Ensuring any future company vehicles are electric
• Continuing to minimise business travel
• Periodically reviewing the sustainability policies of key suppliers, including cloud providers such as Microsoft Azure
• Encouraging efficient home working practices where appropriate
• Reviewing and updating this Carbon Reduction Plan annually
Governance
Responsibility for this Carbon Reduction Plan sits with senior management and is reviewed as part of ongoing business planning and procurement activity.
